A project to really make a splash about

A special project for exceptional kids; Renew Constructions delivered the Monash Special Development School a major upgrade recently.

Many school buildings came in for some attention from Renew – a major renovation and extension of the existing indoor pool building and the pool itself, incorporating extensive new tiling works, pool deck area and new change rooms. This notable project also saw the delivery of a viewing area, staff offices and upgrade of pool and spa filtration equipment. Lastly, but not least importantly, the construction of a new principal’s office, new kitchenette area and provision of new covered outdoor soft-fall play area.

A comprehensive make-over that Renew are very proud of. The client agreed!
‘Hi Renew team, Congratulations on getting Mulgrave and Monash over the line in the same week! Job well done under Covid 19 conditions.’ –  Sarah Ambrogio, Senior Project Manager, Project Delivery NE, Victorian School Building Authority, Department of Education and Training.

State of the Art Learning Spaces

Glowrey Catholic Primary School in Wollert, part of St Peter’s Parish in Epping, opened in 2019 to support the area’s growing community. The school prioritises academic excellence, student wellbeing, and targeted learning programs to meet the unique needs of each student.

For this project, we delivered a modern single-storey classroom building, designed to enhance both functionality and student experience. The build included spacious classrooms, dedicated office spaces, and essential amenities, all thoughtfully planned to support dynamic learning. Outside, we developed a landscaped environment to complement the architecture, including a car park. The result is a high-quality educational facility that meets the needs of both students and staff, now and into the future.

A Foundation for Excellence

We brought new facilities to life at Marymede Catholic College, in support of its mission to provide a seamless education from Early Learning to Year 12. Located in South Morang, the College serves over 2,000 students across the parishes of St Francis of Assisi and Christ the Light. Our work enhances the school’s capacity to foster academic excellence and community spirit, ensuring a modern, well-equipped environment that supports students at every stage of their learning journey.

Smart Spaces, Bright Futures

The upgrades we delivered at Glen Waverley South Primary School create a dynamic learning environment that nurtures academic success, wellbeing, and community connection. We constructed flexible learning spaces, a specialist STEAM learning area and Food Technology classroom, a modern library, and performing arts facilities, providing hands-on opportunities for creative and collaborative learning.

The upgraded amenities enhance student comfort, while a welcoming community hub fosters a sense of belonging. These improvements ensure that students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a space designed for the future.

A Great Project That Really Worked Out

Renew were awarded a multidisciplinary job at Frankston High School, that included the construction of a new double basketball court, and major performance areas.

The Frankston High School project consisted of three separate building elements located on the junior/ middle school (years 7 – 10) campus:

  • Conversion and extension of an Old Scout Hall building into a specialist STEAM learning spaces, incorporating the new addition of a large mezzanine area for open plan teaching.
  • Conversion and extension of an existing school hall space into a new 380 seat performing arts theatre area, with operational bio-box, stage equipment and performance lighting, and acoustically design practice spaces/rooms and performance practice areas.
  • A new Basketball Hall building with a sprung hardwood floor, full gymnasium, large change areas, sports office and canteen space was constructed, adjoining the existing enclosed pool area. Commercial hardstand and car parking areas adjacent to these areas was also completed.

Hall of Fame

Renew Constructions was wrapped to be rewarded the contract to build the Multi-purpose Sports Hall at Glen Waverley Primary School.
The school was in desperate need of this type of facility for the students and school community in general.
Renew is extremely proud of the final product as it will foster healthy physical activities for the students and who knows, perhaps the next up and coming future all star!

Award Winning Building

Renew was the successful tenderer for the construction of the new chapel and food tech facility at Kolbe Catholic College.

Designed by Smith+Tracy Architects, the chapels footprint resembles the shape of a leaf. The works consisted of the main chapel with choir recess and sacristy as well as further office space, two religious education rooms, toilet facilities and a contemplation garden.

The food tech building consisted of two theory rooms, prep room, commercial kitchen, cafeteria and survery, a central courtyard, two classrooms, office, toilet facilities and new locker bays. Needless to say – we were wrapped with the result.

A project that didn’t raise a sweat

Renew are very pleased to deliver another notable gymnasium project. This project for the Mulgrave Primary School incorporated a full size basketball court, provision for netball and indoor futsal courts, stage area (which can double as an additional learning space), change rooms, offices and canteen area.

Constructed from thermal fire rated cladding panels and blockwork, with operable louvres and large glazed operable doors allowing passive cooling through cross ventilation, makes this a smart building indeed.

The Client’s Representative was extremely happy with the result:
